This page explains what cookies and similar browser-storage technologies Hoop Resume uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1. What are cookies?
"Cookies" are small text files that a website places in your browser. Modern web apps like Hoop Resume also use related technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage to remember information between visits. This policy applies to all of those.
2. Cookie categories used on Hoop Resume
Necessary Always on
Required for the site to function. These cannot be switched off.
- Authentication — if you sign in, our backend provider sets a session token so you stay logged in.
- Local game progress — your solved players, level progression, best runs, and in-game preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage so you can keep playing where you left off.
- Cookie consent — remembers the choices you make in the cookie banner so we don't ask again on every visit.
Preferences
Store non-essential UI choices (for example the animations and sound toggles in Settings) across visits. Disabling this category may reset those preferences to their defaults.
Statistics
With your consent we load Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to measure anonymous, aggregated usage of the site — page views, which game modes are popular, device / browser type. GA is configured with IP anonymization. It is not loaded until you accept this category. If you decline or later withdraw consent, GA is not initialized.
Marketing
This category is kept in the banner for future compatibility. Hoop Resume currently uses no marketing or advertising cookies, does not run ads, and does not share data with advertising networks. If that ever changes, this policy and the banner will be updated first.
3. Third-party services
- Authentication & database — our backend provider stores a session token in your browser to keep you signed in (Necessary).
- Google Analytics 4 — loaded only after you accept "Statistics" cookies.
- Ko-fi, YouTube, Instagram, X — the footer links to these services. They only set their own cookies once you actually visit them.
4. Managing your choices
You can review or change your choices at any time by opening the cookie preferences panel:
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking Necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site (such as staying signed in) from working correctly.
